Are you a young person in care or care leaver?
Roots is a safe space, somewhere people can turn at any time of their life – where everyone belongs and comes together and as our young people say, ‘It’s the Roots family.’
At Roots we understand how important it is that our children and young people know their voices are heard. Our young people are extremely passionate about Roots and the work that we do, and they have amazing insight and ideas.
As a youth led organisation, we always strive to ensure children and young people have their say and have an open space to voice their opinions. Roots is a space that the children and young people take ownership of, this has always been encouraged and supported by staff, volunteers and trustees.
The young people at Roots have worked closely with staff and trustees to create this ‘For young people’ section of the website, where their voices are heard. This section is written by the young people at Roots and is aimed at other young people who might be thinking of joining us, or who want to discover more about Roots. Here you can find out what young people at Roots think, what happens here and what makes Roots special. You can also ask our young people questions and get advice about coming to Roots.
